Jarita Freydank ist Schlagzeugerin, Perkussionistin, Sängerin und Produzentin, die mit ihrer Musik Brücken zwischen Kulturen, Zeiten und Ausdrucksformen schlägt. Inspiriert vom Afrofuturismus, verbindet sie traditionelle afrikanische Rhythmen mit elektronischen Klängen und mehrstimmigen Chören.

Nach ihrem Umzug nach Berlin arbeitete sie mit Judith Holofernes, Peter Fox, Astrid North und Jaqee zusammen und etablierte sich auch als Theatermusikerin und Komponistin. Sie kreierte Musik für das Grips Theater, das Theater an der Parkaue und das Ballhaus Naunynstraße. Zudem entwickelt sie Soundscapes mit Loopstation, Vocals, Percussion und Drums für experimentelle Tanzperformances.

2018 veröffentlichte sie ihr Debüt Live at Planet Earth EP. Ihr interaktives Projekt „Trommelversum“ entführt Kinder in eine musikalische Fantasiewelt, während sie mit ihrer YouTube-Serie „JAMMIN’ WITH JARITA / BLURUUM SESSION“ Musiker*innen unterschiedlichster Hintergründe zusammenbringt.

Jarita ist Jury-Mitglied beim „Treffen junge Szene“ der Berliner Festspiele und zudem als Schlagzeug- und Vocal-Coach tätig.

Jarita Freydank is a drummer, percussionist, singer, and producer who builds bridges between cultures, eras, and forms of expression through her music. Inspired by Afrofuturism, she combines traditional African rhythms with electronic sounds and multi-layered vocal harmonies.

After moving to Berlin, she collaborated with Judith Holofernes, Peter Fox, Astrid North, and Jaqee, and also established herself as a theater musician and composer. She created music for GRIPS Theater, Theater an der Parkaue, and Ballhaus Naunynstraße. In addition, she develops soundscapes using loop station, vocals, percussion, and drums for experimental dance performances.

In 2018, she released her debut Live at Planet Earth EP. Her interactive project “Trommelversum” takes children into a musical fantasy world, while her YouTube series “JAMMIN’ WITH JARITA / BLURUUM SESSION” brings together musicians from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Jarita is a jury member of “Treffen junge Szene” at the Berliner Festspiele and also works as a drum and vocal coach.
